Sledding with Potter

ok, so, I thought sledding with Mama was fun... check this out!  Potter, you are the BEST DOG EVER!!  I LOVE YOU!!!

Sledding with Mama

Today was the first real snowfall of the year.  It's Saturday so Daddy is home.  He went out this morning and got a sled for me and Mama.  Daddy pulled me in the wagon, and Mama carried the sled, to the front of the subdivision where there is a huge retention pond.  Mama and I went down the hill a whole bunch of times.  It was so fun!  I don't know who enjoyed it more... me or Mama?

happy halloween!!

My first time trick-or-treating! I really like the concept of Halloween! Going to visit all my friends and they give me candy?!? That's the greatest idea EVER! Plus, everyone we passed said how cute I was in my bear costume. A big shout out to Grandma and Grandpa for buying it for me!

MEGA BLOKS

Mama bought me some new blocks.  They are called Mega Bloks.  I really enjoyed filling up the wagon (that they came in) and dumping it out again.  Good call on the blocks, Mama!  They are really fun to play with!

a visit from Sam & Emily

Sam and Emily came to Gigi and Poppy's house this weekend.  Mama, Daddy, Potter and I went there to have dinner with them.  Gigi was decorating for Christmas so the three of us played with some of her Christmas figurines.

the great pumpkin

We went to get our pumpkins today at a farm in Minooka.  It wasn't that far from home and they had tons of pumpkins and gourds for Mama.  We walked around and took some pictures.  Mama said we will go back again next year for pumpkins.  I will post pictures of the front porch decorations, it looks really nice.

Happy Birthday, Mama!!!!

Today is Mama's birthday.  Daddy took the day off and we went to the Shedd Aquarium.  After we saw all there was to see at the aquarium we walked over to Michigan Avenue to eat lunch.  We sat outside because it was such a beautiful day, over 80 degrees!  Then after lunch we headed over to the bean at Millennium Park to take some pictures.  From the bean we went back to the car and headed for home.  It was a long day with a lot of walking, but it was SO much fun!  I'm glad we all spent the day as a family (and that the weather was so nice)  Happy Birthday, Mama!!  I love you so much!

stats update

went to the doctor today for my 18 month check-up.  I am 29 lbs 14 ounces and 35.5 inches tall.  Mama was 36 inches tall when she was my age, so she was hoping I would be too.  She wasn't disappointed though because the doctor said I'm a healthy, growing boy and that is all Mama wants!

ahhh, Sunday morning with Mama and Aladdin

Mama and I have been under the weather all week!  So, because we have nothing to do today, we are having a jammie day.  We are going to spend the day in our jammies watching movies.  We started with Aladdin, one of our favorites!

a round and bouncy trampoline

Aunt Lindsay is house sitting for some friends near the school where she teaches.  Tonight Mama, Grandpa, Grandma and I drove up to have dinner with her.  We ate pizza.  I mostly ate Grandpa's pizza.  Spinach and mushroom, yummmmm!  After dinner we went out to the backward and jumped on the trampoline.  Mama even jumped a little.  I was unsure at first, but ended up loving it.  I'm glad we went to visit.

garage sale

Mama and Grandma had a Garage Sale today.  I helped.  Well, mostly I waved to the people as they came up the driveway, drove my car (yep, it's a BMW), swept and threw a couple of fits.  Mama later discovered that the source of my fits was the two new teeth that FINALLY broke through.  She has been talking about seeing them for a while now.  We only stayed at Grandma's until noon and then I went home to eat and nap.  I liked helping at the Garage Sale.  I do NOT like cutting teeth!

Mama, it is NOT Halloween... yet

I'm not posting any pictures of my Halloween costume...yet.  I want it to be a surprise.
Just know:

  1. I have a Halloween costume
  2. Mama says it is, "too cute for words"
  3. I will post pictures closer to Halloween
Most important:  Grandma and Grandpa bought my costume for me today!  Thank you very much you two!  I love you both very much.  You really helped make my first trick-or-treating Halloween very special.

at the cottage

We all went out to Great Uncle Tony and Great Aunt Peg's cottage today. Everyone who couldn't come missed a perfect day! The weather was absolutely gorgeous. We all drove the golf carts down to the lake to swim. Mama wasn't sure about me swimming in the lake, but I showed her. I didn't run and splash, but I did have fun. Grandpa was tossing me and Grandma and I were putting sand and water in a bucket that Great Aunt Peg let me take to the lake. I'm really glad we were able to get together and go, but I'm sad that the whole family wasn't there. Maybe next year?

lawnmower races

Aunt Lindsay is here. She challenged me to a lawnmower race on the patio after my nap. She doesn't know how skilled I am at maneuvering my mowers. Well, at first we were neck and neck but in the end, "Victory was mine" to quote Stewie Griffin. Thanks for the fun Aunt Lindsay. I'm really glad you came over for a visit.

unexpected visitors

Carly and Cam came over this morning for a visit.  Mama sat on the couch and held Cam while Carly and I ransacked the house.  We battled over toys, fought over shoes and played a rousing game of hide and seek in the curtains.  Here are a few choice pics from their brief, but fun visit.
