my 1st zoo trip

We spent the day at Brookfield Zoo today. Daddy surprised us and took the whole day off. The trip was a last minute decision, which Mama usually doesn't handle well. She likes to plan everything we do down to the last minuscule detail. But the weather was perfect so we decided to take advantage. We flew by the seat of our pants the whole day and it was fun. We saw lions and tigers, but no bears. The bears were hidden because their new habitat won't be ready until May 8th. We saw a hippo, an elephant, some giraffes, a bunch of buffalo and two rhinos. To end our trip, Mama and I rode the merry-go-round. Daddy snapped tons of cute pics of us. Mama is going to make a special scrapbook to commemorate my very first trip to the zoo. We will go back again for sure to see the bears once they're ready, Mama said the bears are her favorite part.

captivated

Carly came over to hang with me tonight. We played with my toys and watched Family Guy. We are both huge fans of that show. Thanks for a fun time Carly! Can't wait until Friday... Creamery, here we come!

um, Grandma, what are you doing?!

Grandma crawled through my tunnel tonight during her visit. Mama said she couldn't fit, guess she was wrong!

stirrin', no mashin' up some trouble

I can reach inside the drawers now and pull out all sorts of fun stuff. Today I pulled out the potato masher. I've been banging the floors with it, hitting Potter with it and chewing on it. Who knew that Mama's cooking utensils could be so fun to play with? I heard Mama tell Daddy that he needs to put child locks on all the kitchen drawers. That's bogus! I want access to all the fun toys hidden in these drawers. I'll let you know what happens...

another great gift

Grandma & Grandpa bought me a new fort with a tunnel! After we got back from having dinner with them at Texas Roadhouse (mmmmm steak) Daddy put it together for me so I could play before my bath. I had fun crawling in and out of the tunnel. Mama and Potter even joined me in the fort for a bit of fun. Thanks for the great present, Grandma and Grandpa!!

a new love

Mama and Daddy took me for my first cone tonight. It was a nice day today, not as nice as yesterday, but nice just the same. The perfect night for ice cream. It was late, so we waited to eat the cone until we got home. I ate mine all by myself. It was DELISH! I am my mother's son, I love chocolate ice cream!!

no foolin'

I went to the doctor today for my 1 year check-up. I am 24 pounds 7 ounces & 33 inches long. I'm able to drink milk, have eggs and eat peanut butter. Tomorrow morning Mama and I are going to have eggs for breakfast and I'm going to try peanut butter for lunch. Since it is above 80 degrees outside today, Mama, Daddy, Potter and I spent some time outdoors. It was my first time walking around on the patio by myself. I did fall... a lot, but I am getting more swift on my feet everyday.
